Terms of Service

This is an agreement between you and the Vint Rank team ("we"). It covers the Vint Rankapp for iOS and Android and the vintrank.net website (the "Service"). By using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the Service.

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

1. What Vint Rank is

Vint Rank is a service for billiards players: ratings and leagues, match challenges, tournaments, a club directory and table bookings. The games themselves are played on a real table in a club; the Service keeps track of them, it does not replace them.

The app is free. It has no in-app purchases or subscriptions, and no payments go through the Service. If that ever changes, we will say so in advance.

2. Who may use the Service

The Service is for people aged 13 and over. If the law of your country requires a higher age or parental consent for processing your data, use the Service only if that requirement is met.

3. Your account

• You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or through Apple or Google. The Service has no separate password, so access to your mailbox and to those accounts is access to your Vint Rank account. Keep it safe.
• One person — one account. Creating a second account to influence ratings is prohibited.
• Profile details must be accurate. Do not impersonate another person, a club or an organizer.
• You can delete your account at any time: Profile → Settings → Delete account. What deletion does is described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Matches and rating

• A match result is confirmed by both sides — and, in a tournament, by the organizer as well. If they disagree, the match becomes a dispute resolved by an admin.
• Ratings and leagues are calculated on the server only. Tampering with the calculation, fixed matches, collusion and bots lead to a ban.
• Admins may adjust ratings, void disputed matches and ban accounts for violations.
• Ratings, leagues and achievements are records kept inside the Service. They are not a sporting rank or an official qualification.

5. Vint in-game points

• Vint are in-game points. They are not money: they cannot be bought with real currency, exchanged for it, cashed out, transferred outside the Service or refunded.
• Staking Vint on a match is a game mechanic, not real-money gambling. The Service offers no cash winnings and no prizes of monetary value.
• We may adjust a Vint balance that resulted from a calculation error or from abuse.
• Vint do not expire while your account exists, and are forfeited if you delete it or if it is banned for violating these Terms.

6. Tournaments, clubs and bookings

• Tournament organizers and clubs are verified by an admin. An organizer is responsible for running their tournament: the roster, the bracket, entry fees and the conditions they announce.
• Entry fees, table charges and any other payments happen directly between you and the club or organizer, outside the Service. We take no part in them and refund nothing.
• A table booking reserves time at a club. The club itself confirms and honours it.
• We are not responsible for what clubs, organizers and other players do outside the Service.

7. Rules of conduct

While using the Service you may not:

• break the law or infringe other people's rights;
• insult, threaten or harass other players, or incite hatred against them;
• publish other people's personal data without permission;
• submit knowingly false results, inflate ratings or play fixed matches;
• attempt to break into the Service, bypass access checks, scrape data automatically or place an excessive load on it;
• use the Service for advertising, spam or fraud.

8. Your content

By uploading photos, descriptions, tournament titles or a club page you confirm that you have the right to use them, and you grant us the right to display them in the app and on the website — to operate the Service and in the places where you uploaded them. You keep the rights to your content and can remove it at any time.

We may remove content that violates these Terms or the law — normally with notice, and without it only where immediate action is required.

9. Rights in the Service

The app, the website, the Vint Rank name and its design belong to us. These Terms let you use the Service personally and transfer no rights in it. You may not copy its design, decompile the app or build derivative services from it.

10. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is". We aim for reliable operation but do not guarantee that it will be free of faults, data errors or interruptions, and we are not responsible for the accuracy of what players, clubs and organizers enter.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits or lost data, nor for what happens outside the Service — including games, entry fees and payments at clubs. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Suspension and termination

We may restrict access to the Service or ban an account that violates these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in the app. The sections on liability, rights in the Service and governing law survive termination.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan. We try to resolve disputes by correspondence; if that fails, they are heard by the courts of the Republic of Kazakhstan. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection granted by the law of your country of residence.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The current version is always on this page, the date of the last change is at the top, and we will announce material changes in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the new version.
